3 JunChallenging days for Charles

Charles has spent most of his life in the Butterfly Home. He came to us when he was only a few months old (read about those early days here) and captured the hearts of everyone during his very first few days.

He has faced many challenges on his journey so far, with regular journeys made to Shanghai, with thanks to Baobei Foundation for surgeries and follow ups.

We have watched Charles overcome each challenge with bravery and courage. He has grown from a sweet baby into a beautiful young boy. His favourite activities include being outdoors, exploring nature and sensory therapy sessions.

Last week was a difficult week for Charles and he ended up in hospital with health complications. It was a challenging week for Charles, his ayis and Butterfly staff with numerous uncertainties. However, Charles is a fighter and as we have seen countless times before, Charles made a miraculous recovery.

Charles has now been discharged from hospital and is back where he belongs, surrounded by the people who love him.

He will be monitored closely for the next few weeks, but we are hopeful he will make a full recovery. Elora is happy that Charles is home and enjoys “helping” the nurses to monitor him.

We are privileged to care for Charles and are grateful to those who partner with us to provide this specialised care for Charles including Baobei Foundation and our regular crib sponsors.
