11 JulGetting to know our nurses.

We are blessed with a wonderful team of nurses in the Butterfly Home. We currently have a strong team of five Chinese nurses, led by Molin. Today, we are going to introduce three of these nurses.

Wendy

Nurse Wendy has been working as a nurse for seven years. Here she shares her thoughts about working in the Butterfly Home; “I began to work for orphanages and with children with disabilities in 2014 and joined Butterfly Home in August 2018. I have learned a lot already in the Butterfly Home. The children here are very strong and brave. I love their smiles. Life is not perfect, I hope I can do my best to give them better care, reduce their disease related sufferings, make them feel comfortable and happy every day!”

Jane

Jane is another new nurse, who has been with us since October 2018. She shares a little bit about herself here: “I’m Zhan Xiuhong. People like to call me Xiuxiu. My English name is Jane. I graduated from Yiyang Medical College and came from Yiyang, Hunan Province. I have been engaged in nursing for eight years and came to Butterfly Home on October 24, 2018. The children here have brought me endless joy. They need our care. I take care of them with the most sincere heart.”

Lily

Lily is a caring, compassionate nurse and enjoys working in the Butterfly Home. “I am Lily and have been nursing for more than ten years. I worked as an oral care nurse most of the time. It’s a great honor for me to come to the Butterfly Home. Children’s palliative care is a meaningful career work because every child’s life is valuable and should be valued, every child should be given the opportunities to achieve their full potential in life. And here I hope to be able to ease their discomfort, bring them love and happiness, and can see the children’s beautiful smile everyday.”

We are thrilled to have such a wonderful, caring, competent team of nurses who love the children dearly. Without them, we could not provide the specialised care that our children need.
