14 JunSnowy’s story

Snowy celebrated her 13th birthday with us last month. She is now officially a teenager! You may remember when she first arrived (read about it here), we were not sure if she would survive those first nights and never imagined celebrating birthdays with her.

Snowy has come so far since arriving to our home. The scared, frightened little girl has vanished. She has been replaced by a happy, sociable girl who loves to be at the centre of attention. Her favourite foods are cake and noodles specially made by our chef ayi. Her favourite activities are sensory therapy and time spent outside exploring the world around her.

We celebrated her thirteenth birthday with mixed feelings. Time was spent reflecting on her achievements so far and celebrating her life. Hearts were also heavy as we know this birthday means that she has less than one year left before she “ages out” and loses the chance of having a forever family of her own.

Her adoption file has been not started but we believe that every child is worth fighting for and Snowy is no exception. If you think Snowy may be your daughter please reach out to us at katie@butterflyhospice.org. Snowy deserves a forever family and we know she would continue to thrive with one. Please share this blog with anyone you know considering adoption and who may be looking for an amazing older girl.

Snowy, you are an inspiration to all of us and we will do everything we can to find you a forever family of your own.
