13 MayThree special birthdays
Birthdays in the Butterfly Home are always a special occasion. We had hoped that for our ‘May’ birthdays we would be able to go back to our usual parties and celebrate all together again.
However, this is still not the case. For the safety of our children and staff, the Butterfly Home remains in lockdown.
The good news this month is that local businesses and bakeries are reopening. This meant our children were treated to some delicious cakes from the local bakery.
Due to the restrictions, we could not invite any of our additional staff or volunteers to celebrate, but the staff who are in the home, made it a birthday to remember for our three special Butterflies.
We celebrated Snowy’s 14th birthday in style this week. She was in great spirits and really enjoyed her special day. We are still heartbroken that her chance of a family is gone forever, but we will continue to fight for a bright future for her.
Snowy loves brightly coloured balloons and the staff were only too happy to cover the home with sparkly balloons for a week-long celebration.
Noah celebrated his 7th birthday this month. We cannot believe he is seven! Where does the time go?!
At first he was a little unsure about the ‘sweetness’ of the cake, but soon was reaching out to his ayis for more.
We do not know what his future holds, but we really hope it involves a forever family. If you think Noah could be your son, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our beautiful princess turned 11 years old this week. She has grown and changed so much, since coming into our care. We are so proud of her achievements so far. Her adoption paperwork is in progress and we cannot wait until she is matched with a family. Karis’ ayi helped blow out her birthday candles and shared her wish that this would be her last birthday without a forever family.
Like Snowy, Noah and Karis, if you celebrate your birthday this month, we hope you are able to ‘celebrate’ in your own special way and from all of us, we wish you a very happy birthday.
